Bad news: half a tree falls down. Good news: nothing is damaged, the tree is trimmed and once again looks beautiful.

Bad news: the toilet in the women's room cracks and water floods the front office. Good news: it's not the water main, nothing is ruined, and the women's room has two new toilets (this is Bishop Bruce last week, pretending not to notice a dank smell or a slightly squishy rug.)

Bad news: a PVC pipe breaks outside the rector's study, shooting a plume of water over the roof and under a wall, flooding a small room packed with books. Good news: the fourth grade students, led by Debbie Dunlap, create a fire brigade and save all the books (temporarily placed in front of the chapel altar.)

How's that for excitement?
