The essay is "White Privilege: Unpacking the Invisible Backpack" by Peggy McIntosh, 1988. It's not long - about 5 pages. All the quotes I used (and more) are there. If you want to print one as a lead for the website, I would suggest this one:
I can remain oblivious of the language and customs of persons of color who constitute the world’s majority without feeling in my culture any penalty for such oblivion.
